To understand how we've gotten to where we are today, you need to go back over 30 years to a time when high volume output via laser printing was a new and unproven technology...

Opportunity

In 1977, COPI was founded to provide laser printouts of high volume computer data without requiring customers to assume the risk of buying what was, at that time, a huge unknown -- mainframe attached laser printers. There seemed to be immense possibilities afforded by providing such a service and COPI was launched to meet the printing outsource needs of Houston-based companies. 

Andy Plata was working at Xerox when they introduced the first laser printer. He left Xerox and became COPI's vice president. Two years later he helped bring Dennis Baker, a colleague of his from Exxon and Xerox, into the fold as the company's systems analyst. 

Growth

When COPI fell into financial difficulties in 1982, Andy bought the company. He restructured COPI into an international company that served users and vendors in the high volume output and laser printing industry. It was at this point that we began to use the phrase "Client Delight" to describe the level of unsurpassed customer satisfaction we are committed to provide. 

Over the last 20 years, our obsessive determination to ensure Client Delight has paid off in extensive recognition of our quality, technical innovation, and philanthropy. We're also honored to be considered one of America's most successful Hispanic-owned enterprises. We make it a high priority to promote cultural diversity in the free enterprise system and to serve as an advisor to many companies in our field.

These values are at the bedrock of who we are, and we believe it's our commitment to such high standards that has made us the company we are today.
